Company and Employee Bio

Frontier Logistics was formed in 1999 as a sister company of Frontier Moving and Storage. Frontier Moving and Storage has been engaged in warehousing and freight handling in Idaho since the early 1900's

"We were frustrated with the increased demands on our customers to meet the fast-paced requirements of warehousing and shipping. Shipping cost continued to sky rocket while the services declined. Recognizing that businesses are demanding more innovative options for reducing employee overhead and controlling freight costs and services, we created our FLGSI System©" -Kenneth D. Edmunds, CEO Frontier Moving and Storage

Early in our developmental phase we realized Frontier Logistics with it's FLGSI System© could be an asset for more than just our warehouse clients. We obtained a brokeage license so we could share our service with other companies besides just our warehouse customers. Kirk recognized our FLGSI System© and saw the benefit of our automated system and the leverage our large freight volume provided for freight discounts.

Shortly into our start up phase Kirk Larson left a major LTL Carrier after 18 years in the industry because he was tired of how the industry mislead and represented their clients.

Kirk took over the managing control of Frontier Logistics with the objective of representing our customers and giving the information the Freight Companies never wanted their consumers to know. Finally Kirk could truly represent his customers actual needs and concerns.

The work was enjoyable and provided a honorable service, which attracted other key people from with in the industry. These people wanted the freedom of saving customers lots of money and the escape from a bureaucratic environment.

Kirk Larson

Kirk joined Frontier Logistics in 2000. He has been in the transportation industry for a total of 26 years. He got his Bachelors degree from Boise State University in Management and Organizational Behavior.

Kirk loves volunteering time with Scouts and has done so over the past 25 years. Kirk loves adventures, including hunting, hiking, skiing, caving, rappelling and camping all in warm or cold weather.

Darren Smith

Darren graduated from Utah State University in 1995 with a Degree in Business Management.  A few months later Darren had the opportunity to buy into Frontier Moving and Storage and move back to Twin Falls Idaho where he was raised.  The outdoor opportunities are great in Idaho and his family is excited to be back in Twin Falls with family and friends where they enjoy their outdoor adventures.

Frontier Moving and Storage is an Allied Van Line Agent and specializes in commercial warehousing.  In 1995 Frontier had 49,000 sq. ft. of space and has since grown to over 90,000 sq. ft. of commercial space and is in the process of adding more square footage. With Darren's assistance Frontier Moving and Storage created a sister company Frontier Logistics to provide an added value for their warehouse clients.

Frontier Logistics took off with great success with Darren's focus on locating and securing warehouse locations through out the country to better service the needs of our client's.  Darren finds it very exciting to work with such a large customer base who has so many different requirements.  The rewards are great because an added value is added at a reduce cost of service which makes working for Frontier Logistics an exciting environment where our clients are saving money and getting exceptional service.

Darren married Lisa in 1993 and have 3 very active kids who enjoy just about anything (maybe too much) in the outdoors such as biking, climbing, kayaking, and etc.
